World premiere of the film “The Last Expedition”, dir. Eliza Kubarska
The 21st MDAG will open with a thrilling film about Wanda Rutkiewicz directed by Eliza Kubarska, an alpinist and filmmaker known to festival audiences for “The Wall of Shadows”. The director draws on a recovered audio diary of the outstanding Polish Himalayan climber, thus giving her a voice. What was the price Wanda had to pay for entering the male world of high-altitude expeditions? Special guests at the gala include director Eliza Kubarska, producer Monika Braid, Wanda's sister Janina Fies and cinematographers Piotr Rosołowski and Marcin Sauter.
The gala will be hosted by Katarzyna Kasia. After the screening, guests are invited to a banquet. Tickets for the event, price: PLN 45, can be purchased online via Going. pl from 18 April.
