Regulations of the 21st Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival
§1
General Provisions
- The Rules and Regulations apply to the 21st Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival hereinafter referred to as the "Event" whose organiser is Against Gravity Sp. z o.o. with its registered office at ul. Bukowińska 26C / 12, 02-703 Warsaw, registered in the Register of Entrepreneurs kept by the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw in Warsaw, XII Commercial Division of the National Court Register under the KRS number 0000199919, NIP: 5262757178, REGON: 015682568, hereinafter referred to as the "Organiser".
- The following terms used in the Rules and Regulations shall mean the following:
- Accreditation – a fee-based badge with the name, surname, company/institution name and a photo of the Participant, entitling to participate in the Festival. Detailed rules concerning the functioning and purchase of Accreditations are provided in the Acredditations Rules and Regulations for the Warsaw edition of the 21st Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival in Warsaw available at: https://book.mdag.pl/en/accreditations
- Ticket – a document issued by a cinema in paper or electronic form, authorising the participation in a Screening or Accompanying Event, specifying the title, date, time of the Screening or Accompanying Event.
- Event - the 21st Edition of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival, organised from 10 to 19 May 2024 in designated venues in Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdynia, Katowice, Poznań, Bydgoszcz, and Łódź as part of which Screenings are held in cinemas.
- Participant – a person taking part in the Event. A Participant is only a person who has a valid Pass, Accreditation, Ticket or other document issued by the Organiser.
- Organiser – the organiser of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival - Against Gravity Sp. z o.o. with its registered office at ul. Bukowińska 26C / 12, 02-703 Warsaw, registered in the register of entrepreneurs kept by the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw in Warsaw, 12th Commercial Division of the National Court Register under the number KRS 0000199919, NIP: 5262757178, REGON: 015682568.
- Pass – a fee-based badge containing the first name, surname and the image of the Participant, entitling to participation in the Warsaw edition of the Festival. Detailed rules concerning the functioning and purchase of Passes are provided in the Passes Rules and Regulations for the Warsaw edition of the 21st Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival in Warsaw available at: https://book.mdag.pl/en/passes
- Cinema Pass – a document issued by selected cinemas offering their purchase in paper or electronic form, entitling the holder to receive a fixed number of Tickets for the Festival Screenings;
- Entrance Ticket – entrance Tickets to film screenings taking place in cinemas for holders of Accreditation or Passes for the Warsaw edition of the Festival. Entrance Tickets can be collected using the fee-based IDs (Passes or Accreditations) in the "Festival Centres" or can be booked online at book.mdag.pl, which is equivalent to collecting an "Entrance Ticket" for a given screening.
- Festival Centre – a service point for Participants located in the respective cinemas where the "Festival" is organised. At the Festival Centres, the Participant can collect Entrance Tickets.
- Screening – the projection of an audiovisual work of a film in a cinema using any format, preceded by the projection of other, additional audiovisual information and advertising material.
- Accompanying Event – part of the Event which may consist of a Screening held in a cinema or other event offered as part of the Event.
- The Event will take place from 10 to 19 May 2024 at designated venues in Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdynia, Katowice, Poznań, Bydgoszcz and Łódź.
- The Rules and Regulations define the rights and obligations of the Organiser, the conditions of participation, and the rules of conduct for the participants of the Event, including in particular the provisions regulating:
- the organisation of the Event;
- the obligations of Event's participants;
- the conditions for the participation in the Event
- participants' rights during the Event;
- rules concerning the responsibility of Event's participants for behaviour not complying with the Rules and Regulations;
§2
Admission to the Event
- The right of admission to the Event is granted to individuals in possession of a document issued by the Organiser authorising them to enter the Event, in particular a Ticket, a Pass /Accreditation, and an Entrance Ticket. The Organiser may additionally ask the participant of the Event to present an identity card.
- Entering the venue where the Event is being held is equivalent to the Participant accepting these Rules and Regulations of the Event, and the Participant shall abide by these Rules and Regulations as well as the Rules and Regulations of the Cinema where the Screening or Accompanying Event is being held.
- The Organiser reserves the right to refuse admission to the Event to anyone who is under the influence of alcohol, or intoxicants or who displays an aggressive attitude, or whose behaviour poses a threat to the safety of other people or property.
- Minors under the age of 16 are admitted to the Event area and are only allowed into the Event area when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Parents or legal guardians / legal representatives are responsible for minors attending the Event or participating in a Screening or an Accompanying Event, including financial responsibility, in accordance with the relevant legislation.
- Age restrictions placed by the distributor next to film titles are for information purposes only and constitute the distributor's recommendation. In the event that a film contains e.g. erotic, vulgar or violent scenes, the Organiser shall have the right to refuse entry to the Screening to persons not meeting the age criteria recommended by the distributor. In the case of certain Screenings, the Organiser reserves the right to control the age of the Participants and to have and present the consent of legal guardians / legal representatives of minors.
- Participants are obliged to attend the Screenings or Accompanying Events of the Event on time.
- Participants are strictly obliged to have a Ticket or other Identification Badge authorising them to be at the Event.
- Participants in possession of an ID badge are obliged to put it on before entering the premises of the Event. The badge may only be used by one person, it is forbidden to give or lend the badge to another person.
- Damaged, torn, lost or stolen badges or tickets will no longer be valid. Documents damaged by the Participant are invalid and cannot be exchanged or replaced.
- The Entrance Ticket or Ticket entitles the holder to one admission to a given Screening.
- Registration of Pass or Accreditation holders for Screenings or Accompanying Events takes place online at book.mdag.pl or at Festival Centres.
§3
Organisation of the Event
- The Event Organizer and the cinemas cooperating with the Organizer, listed on www.mdag.pl, are responsible for the security of the Event at the venue and during its duration.
- Admission and participation in the Event takes place based on purchased Tickets or Entrance Tickets.
- The Entrance Ticket or Ticket authorises a single entry to a particular Screening.
- Tickets will be sold in cinemas only.
- Selected cinemas may sell Cinema Passes entitling to a certain number of Tickets.
- Registration of Pass or Accreditation holders for Screenings or Accompanying Events takes place online at book.mdag.pl or at Festival Centres.
- Each cinema sells Tickets only for Screenings or Accompanying Events taking place in that cinema.
- It is not possible to return purchased Tickets and Cinema Passes. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel Tickets and not to admit the Participant once the maximum number of people allowed to attend an Accompanying Event or a Screening has been exceeded. In such a case, the Participant may request a refund for the ticket.
- The pool of Entrance Tickets for individual screenings for Pass holders and Accreditation holders is limited and independent of the pool of tickets sold by cinema box offices. Not receiving an Entrance Ticket due to the fact that their pool has been exhausted does not necessarily mean that the Participant will not be able to see the film at another time, as the films will be presented several times during the Festival.
- In each of the Festival Centres, Pass and Accreditation holders will be issued Entrance Tickets. Entrance Tickets can only be collected for screenings presented on a given day or the following day. A Pass or Accreditation authorises the holder to receive only one Entrance Ticket for a given Screening.
- Entrance Tickets can also be reserved online in the User Panel at book.mdag. pl, which is equivalent to collecting the "Entrance Ticket" for a given screening without the need to physically collect it at the Festival Centre. Entrance Tickets can only be reserved for screenings presented on a given day or on the following day. A Pass or Accreditation authorises the holder to receive only one Entrance Ticket for a given Screening.
- Seats in the halls where events, including Screenings, are held are not numbered.
- By attending the Event, the Participant agrees for the Organiser to the free use, their image for the needs of television and photographic production as well as in the recordings made during the Event to be used and made available commercially or non-commercially, on all kinds of media, inter alia, for the broadcast of the Event, promotion of the Festival and the statutory activities of the Organiser.
§4
General Conditions and Restrictions Applicable to the Event
- In the Event area it is prohibited to:
- smoke cigarettes and use electronic cigarettes and devices and objects of the same or similar function in areas not designated for this purpose;
- smoke cigarettes and use electronic cigarettes and devices and objects of the same or similar function or operation in areas not designated for this purpose;
- bring in, possess and use intoxicants;
- consume food products purchased outside the Cinema and bring in articles that may interfere with other Customers' participation in the Screening;
- bring in and/or consume alcoholic beverages purchased outside the Cinema;
- bring in animals, with the exception of guide dogs for the blind and visually impaired;
- damage property;
- display offensive, rude and disrespectful behaviour, including loud behaviour disturbing the reception of a Screening or an Accompanying Event;
- display inappropriate behaviour that may violate good manners;
- bring in dangerous objects and substances that may endanger the health or safety of others;
- sell and/or transfer Passes and Entrance Tickets to other persons;
- carry out any commercial or service activities, marketing activities, charitable activities, etc. (the Organiser's explicit authorisation is required for this purpose).
- Admission to the Event is forbidden to anyone who:
- has been issued a decision banning entry to the Event;
- is propagating or displaying slogans, symbols, obscene, vulgar, offensive, racist, etc. content, as well as propaganda materials of a racist, xenophobic, political or religious nature;
- is visibly under the influence of alcohol, narcotic drugs, psychotropic drugs or other similar agents;
- is behaving in an aggressive, provocative manner or otherwise poses a threat to public safety or order;
- is using an open flame;
- is carrying or storing pyrotechnic materials, aerosol gas or flammable substances;
- is smoking tobacco and e-cigarettes outside designated areas;
- is carrying weapons or other dangerous objects, materials, products, beverages, agents or substances;
- is a minor under 13 years of age, not accompanied by an adult;
- The Organiser reserves the right to:
- check and determine the person's eligibility to participate in the Event, and if such eligibility is found to be lacking, to request the person to leave the Event and to take measures to enforce the contents of the request;
- check the identity of a person in order to establish their identity;
- inspect the contents of a person's baggage and clothing in the event of suspicion that a person is bringing in or possessing prohibited items referred to in the Rules and Regulations.
- check the blood alcohol level of Participants in case of a justified suspicion in this respect;
- It is forbidden to enter any areas which are closed to Participants, where access is not permitted, or which are reserved exclusively for the Organiser's employees or cinema staff.
- The Organizer reserves the right to make changes related to the course of the Event under circumstances for which he is not responsible, including cancellation of the Event for a valid reason.
- In cases justified by the necessity to ensure the safety of the Participants, other persons staying at the Event's area and the personnel of the Organizer as well as the cinema, and in order to verify the observance of the ban on bringing the objects described in the above points to the Event's area, the Organizer's, as well as the cinema's personnel (including the security employee), is entitled to ask the persons entering or staying at the cinema area to voluntarily show the contents of their bags, backpacks, pockets of clothes, etc., to the Organizer. Any person refusing the request may be asked to leave the Event.
- During a Screening or Accompanying Event it is also prohibited to:
- make any recording of images and sound, as prohibited by law, in particular under: Act on Copyright and Related Rights of 4 February 1994. A breach of this prohibition shall be reported to the law enforcement authorities in each case as constituting a prohibited act.
- use of mobile phones and other electronic devices emitting light and sound that may interfere with the reception of a Screening or an Accompanying Event.
- consume alcoholic beverages, including those purchased on the cinema premises.
§5
Purchase of Passes, Accreditations and Collection of Entrance Tickets for the Warsaw edition of the Festival
- Rules and regulations for the purchase of Passes, Accreditations and the collection of Entrance Tickets for the Warsaw edition of the Festival - not regulated in these Rules and Regulations - are defined in the documents below, depending on the type of service.

§6
Responsibilities of the Event Participant
- The Participant of the Event shall:
- not to disturb public order;
- comply with the provisions of these Rules and Regulations and the Rules and Regulations of the venue where the Event takes place;
- carry and present, each time on request of the Organizer or the Organizer's employees and the cinema staff, documents authorizing to enter and stay at the Event;
- not endanger the safety of other persons present at Event;
- comply with safety orders issued by the Organiser or the Organiser's employees and the cinema, and in the case of intervention of the Police, National Fire Brigade, Border Guard, Military Police or employees of other authorised services and authorities - follow their instructions.
2. Participants shall only use the sanitary facilities for their intended purpose.
3. The Organizer is not responsible for items lost, abandoned or misplaced within the Event's area.
4. Participants of the Event and all other persons who are in the Event's area are obliged to obey the instructions of the Organizer or the Organizer's employees as well as the cinema employees or security services. Refusal to obey these instructions may result only from their being contrary to generally applicable laws.
§7
Rights of the Participant of the Event
- The Event Participant has the right to:
- stay in the Event's area during its duration, i.e. from the moment the Organizer makes the Facility available until the end of the Event;
- participate in the Event freely, expressing their emotions, which is only limited by the need to comply with the law, generally applicable rules of social coexistence and the provisions of these Rules and Regulations;
- be informed about facilities and safety requirements specified by the Organiser or emergency services.
- The Event Participant is authorised to:
- report to the Organizer's representatives (e.g. security or information services) any damage suffered by them in the Event area during the Event;
- submit complaints;
- report irregularities or violations of the Rules and Regulations by other Participants;
§8
Obligations and Rights of the Event Organizer
- The Organiser shall ensure the safety of persons present at the Event and order during the Event by, among other things:
- the staff of the Organiser and the staff of the Cinemas and Venues where the Event takes place (also known as law enforcement and information services);
- making hygiene and sanitation facilities available;
- ensuring the participation in the Event of Participants who comply with the rules specified in the Rules and Regulations of the Event and who are authorised to participate in the Event;
2. The Organiser, within the scope of the law, is entitled to record the proceedings of the Event, in particular the behaviour of participants, by means of sound and image recording devices. The materials collected during the recording of the proceedings of the Event may constitute evidence which could be used to initiate criminal proceedings or proceedings in cases of offences, or evidence significant for such proceedings being in progress,
3. The law-enforcement officers, wearing a badge displayed in a visible place, are entitled by the law to:
- check the entitlements to attend the Event;
- question persons in order to establish their identity;
- inspect the contents of any person's bags or clothes in case of suspicion of carrying or possessing dangerous objects;
- ascertaining the right of persons to be present at Event and, in case of establishing the lack of such right, requesting persons to leave the Event or not allowing them to enter;
- give orders to persons disturbing the public order or behaving against the Rules and Regulations of the Event, and in case of failure to carry out these orders, request them to leave the Event;
- use physical force, as permitted by law, in case the property entrusted to security is threatened or in case of repelling an attack on a member of the security services or another person, in accordance with the regulations in force;
- apprehend, in order to immediately hand them over to the Police, persons posing a direct threat to human life or health, as well as protected property;
- check the blood-alcohol level with the use of certified technical devices for measuring the amount of alcohol in the exhaled air;
4. Security and law enforcement officers are obliged to remove from the Event area any persons whose behaviour disturbs public order or whose behaviour does not comply with the Rules and Regulations or the Rules and Regulations of the facility or the cinema where the Event takes place.
5. Depending on the potential risks and needs, members of the law enforcement and security services may be equipped with, among other things:
- handheld metal detectors,
- other necessary and legally authorised personal protective equipment.
§9
Complaints
- All Participants are entitled to make a complaint.
- Complaints must be submitted to the following e-mail address: kontakt@againstgravity.pl. The complaint should include contact details, name and surname, e-mail address and a description of the reason for the complaint.
- The Organiser will review the complaint and inform of its decision within 14 days of receiving the complaint submission. The response will be sent electronically to the e-mail address indicated in the complaint submission. The Organiser reserves the right to extend the aforementioned deadline by no more than 10 days in the event that the processing of the complaint requires extraordinary, special measures and arrangements or encounters obstacles beyond the Organiser's control (equipment or Internet network malfunctions, etc.).
- If it is necessary for the complaint to be processed, the Organiser shall immediately call the person submitting the complaint to provide additional information, specifying the deadline, no shorter than 7 days, and the scope of such additional information, and instructing that if the complaint is not completed within the specified deadline, the complaint shall not be processed. Upon ineffective expiry of the specified time limit, the complaint shall be left unprocessed.
- Complaints regarding the purchase of food and other products made at the Facilities as well as at the Cinemas where the Event takes place must be made directly to these entities.
§10
Changes to the Event or Cancellation of the Event
- The Organizer reserves the right to cancel the Event or change the date and the programme of the Event for important reasons such as the declaration of national mourning, restrictions related to the epidemiological situation or any other reason beyond the Organizer's control, which makes it impossible to hold the Festival in its current form. Also, when the aforementioned changes are caused by the necessity to ensure safety, health or life of people or property or the necessity to ensure undisturbed and comfortable conditions for all Participants. In the aforementioned cases, the Organiser will inform the Participant, by e-mail if available, and on the Organiser's website as well as on the Organiser’s social media.
- If the date of the Event is changed or if the Event is cancelled, the Participant is entitled to a refund for the Tickets and Cinema Passes.
- In the event of a change in the date of the Event or in the event of cancellation of the Event, the holder of the Pass and/or Accreditation is entitled to a refund of the purchased Accreditation and Passes on the basis and terms described in the Regulations below:

- In the event of a change in the date of the Event, all Passes and Accreditations that have been purchased prior to the announcement of the new date of the Event will remain valid for the new date, or can also be refunded - depending on the decision of the authorised person.
§11
Processing of Personal Data
- Personal data provided to the Organiser will be processed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and in accordance with the Organiser's privacy policies available at https://mdag.pl/21/en/warszawa/page/Polityka+prywatno%25C5%259Bci and https://book.mdag.pl/en/info/privacy-policy. The provisions of the Privacy Policies are an integral part of the Terms and Conditions.
- By signing up for the Event, the Participant agrees to the processing of personal data including name, contact telephone, email address, and Image.
- At the same time, by taking part in the Event, the Participant agrees for Against Gravity to the free use, including distribution, of his/her image, recorded during the Event with the use of image and sound recording devices, by publishing it, in whole or in fragments, on social media profiles (e.g. facebook, youtube) and websites of Against Gravity and entities cooperating with Against Gravity in the scope of fulfilling its statutory aims or publications, presentations, film materials and other types of information materials (also in printed and electronic versions) distributed by Against Gravity in relation to the organization of the MDAG 2024 Event or its information or promotional activities.
- In accordance with Article 13(1) and (2) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (Official Journal of the EU L 119/1 of 04.05.2016), further referred to as "RODO", I inform you that:
- the Administrator of the Participants' personal data is Against Gravity with its registered office in Warsaw, ul. Bukowińska 26C / 12;
- the Administrator has appointed a Data Protection Officer; contact to the DPO: kontakt@againstgravity.pl;
- the Participant's personal data will be processed for the purposes of record keeping, preparation and organisation of the Event and, in the case of personal data in the form of an image, for the purposes of information in the media and publications about the Administrator's activities - on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) RODO, i.e. the separate consent referred to above;
- the recipients of Participants' personal data will be entities entitled to obtain personal data on the basis of separate legal regulations, authorised employees/co-workers of the Administrator, providers of technical and organisational services, and entities to whom the Administrator has entrusted the processing of personal data – with all guarantees ensuring the security of the data transferred;
- Participants' personal data in the form of an image will be transferred to third countries (outside the European Economic Area) for which the European Commission has issued an adequacy finding; in such cases, the data will be transferred in accordance with generally applicable laws with adequate safeguards, on the basis of standard data protection clauses adopted by the European Commission; the Participant may obtain a copy of the personal data transferred to the third country; other personal data will not be transferred to a recipient in a third country or an international organisation;
- Personal data shall be processed for the period necessary for the completion of the contract and until claims relating to the completion of the contract have expired, details of the processing period for personal data are included in the Privacy Policy.
- the Participant has the right to access the content of their data and the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, the right to data portability, the right to object, to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on consent before its withdrawal;
- the Participant has the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority - the President of the Office for the Protection of Personal Data - in the event that the Administrator violates data protection regulations in the processing of personal data;
- the provision of personal data is voluntary, but necessary for participation in the Festival;
- no automated decisions (without human involvement) will be made in relation to Participants, including their data not being subject to profiling.
§12
Final Provisions
- The Event Organizer makes these Rules and Regulations and the Rules and Regulations of the Venue available to the Participants by posting the Rules and Regulations on Mdag.pl, Book.Mdag.pl and at the entrances to the Festival cinemas and venues.
- During the Event, the Organizer and the Participants of the Event, as well as other persons staying at the Venue, are obliged to comply with the generally applicable law.
- The Organizer does not cover the costs of travel, parking or other costs resulting from the participation in the Event.
- The Organiser does not provide free drinks or meals. As part of the Event, it is possible to purchase drinks and meals in some cinemas.
- Entry to the Venue also signifies permission to use one's image in connection with the production, presentation, advertising or use of the film, video and audio recording of the Event.
- The governing law for all legal relations is Polish law.
- In matters not regulated in these Rules and Regulations and in the Rules and Regulations referred to herein, the provisions of generally applicable law shall apply;
- The content of the Rules and Regulations is subject to change. In the event of a change to the content of the Rules and Regulations, each Participant will be informed by the Organiser by posting a message about the change to the Rules and Regulations on the Organiser's website, containing a summary of the changes to the Rules and Regulations, and maintaining this information on the Festival's home page for at least 14 consecutive calendar days, and Participants who have an account with the Organiser will additionally be informed by the Organiser by sending information containing a summary of the changes to the Rules and Regulations to the e-mail address they indicated in the registration form.
- The Participant shall be informed of the change to the Rules and Regulations no later than 14 calendar days before the amended Rules and Regulations are introduced. If the Participant does not accept the new content of the Rules and Regulations, they are obliged to inform the Organiser of this fact within 14 days from the date of informing about the change of the Rules and Regulations.
Organiser of Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival
- These Terms are available in two language versions, Polish and English. In the event of any dispute as to these Terms the Polish language version shall prevail.
- Any matters not covered in these Terms will be governed by the provisions of the Polish law.
