Cécile Embleton is a British-French documentary director. Her first feature film Mother Vera, was supported by The Sundance Institute, won first prize at Locarno First Look 2023 and first look prize at the Hot Docs Forum 2021, and premiered at Visions du Réel in main competition in 2024. Her debut short The Watchmaker premiered at Dok Leipzig 2016, SXSW and Hot Docs, won the Grand Jury prize at Boston International Film Festival and was nominated for UK Best Short at Open City Documentary Festival.
