Film Discussion Club at DCF. Discussion after the screening of the film “Another Body”
before and after the screening of the film ANOTHER BODY, dir. Sophie Compton, Reuben Hamlyn
The topic of the May “Centrum” Film Discussion Club at DCF is identity theft. The film “Another Body”, about the dark side of the internet and the great power of manipulation inherent in modern technology, will be screened during Millennium Docs Against Gravity. It follows American college student Taylor’s search for answers and justice after she discovers deepfake pornography of herself circulating online. She dives headfirst into the underground world of deepfakes and discovers a growing culture of men terrorizing women—influencers, classmates, friends. More than just a cautionary tale about misused technology and the toxicity of the online world, this documentary transforms the deepfake technology weaponized against Taylor into a tool that allows her to tell her story and reclaim her identity.
Host: the introduction to the film and the post-screening discussion will be led by Maciej Stasierski and Michał Hernes from the Watching Closely blog
