On Friday, May 10, it was possible to attend the Progress Pitching Session during MDAG Industry. The event was dedicated to visually interesting, creative documentary projects with international potential. The pitching session aims to tap the substantive potential of the festival guests and create a place where world-class films are being born.

Thom Powers' Keynote Speech opened the Pitching Session: The Power is in Our Hands. TIFF programmer and host of the Pure Nonfiction podcast talked about how documentary filmmakers can stand up to political and corporate forces.

The Pitching Session was closed with Niels Pagh Andersen's masterclass: The Real Here and Now.
In his masterclass, using examples from his work, the Danish editor talked about the challenges facing documentaries.
