Sofie Husum Johannesen has a background in Visual Anthropology and has since graduation worked as project manager, co-director, producer and line-producer with Danish production companies Elk Film, Haslund Film and Stray Dog Productions on both internationally awarded fiction and documentary films. For three years she was production manager on documentary distribution initiative Dinner&Docs managing more than 250 documentary screenings and talks with Denmark's most talented documentary directors. Sofie is part of Elk Film’ producer’s team and works across various projects in the company. Most recently she co-directed and line-produced the feature Documentary As the Tide Comes In, which premiered in competition at IDFA 2023.
