Amnesty International debate: Wars Have Rules Too. On Armed Conflict And International Justice

After the screening of NO OTHER LAND, dir. Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor

Partner – Amnesty International]

Wars are about death and destruction, but wars have rules, too. So does occupation. What are the rules of an armed conflict? What determines whether genocide, a war crime or the crime of apartheid has occurred? How are these crimes tracked and proven, and how is justice sought in criminal tribunals? Is it possible to talk about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict credibly and objectively without taking sides? Finally, what can we do to have an impact on the course of events related to armed conflicts? Anna Błaszczak-Banasiak, director of Amnesty International and an expert on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will take part in the debate.

Host: Agnieszka Lichnerowicz (TOK FM)
