Black Queer Artists Night

Sat., 18/05 | 10:00 p.m. | Nowe Lokum Stonewall

Black Queer Artists Night

after the screening of LIL NAS X: LONG LIVE MONTERO, dir. Zac Manuel, Carlos López Estrada (→ )

Lil Nas X, or rather Montero Lamar Hill, is an unprecedented artist who transcends musical genres and defies expectations. He is a prominent figure of contemporary pop culture: an American rapper, singer-songwriter, LGBTQ+ activist, awarded two Grammy Awards and the performer behind the viral 'Old Town Road'. The film features spectacular footage from his tours, behind-the-scenes shots and fan reactions intertwined with Montero's biography, including the one before his rise to fame.

Following the screening, we invite you to Nowe Lokum Stonewall for a queer party, which will be an opportunity to dance together to the tunes of LGBTQ+ artists. This evening, most of the musical focus will be on the black queer performance community, including the protagonist of the festival film. The event at Nowe Lokum Stonewall will be an opportunity to celebrate one's identity, just as the documentary's protagonist encourages, even just by his stage expression. The event is free of charge.
