Wednesday, May 15, 10:00 a.m., screening room Warszawa
Documentary Academy. Meeting with sex educator Marta Kosińska
after the screening of the film IT’S ALWAYS BEEN ME, dir. Julie Bezzera Madsen
The film tells the story of two young people who do not identify with the sex assigned to them at birth, and the importance of having an understanding family when making decisions about the changes that determine people's lives. Max was born as a girl but just came out as a transgender boy. Bastian is born as a boy but most of the time he feels he is a girl. Max and Bastian struggle with their bodies as they develop, feeling it is not going in the right direction. They are considering whether they should stop their puberty by starting hormone treatment. A choice that will change their lives forever is becoming more and more urgent as they race against time to make the right decision.
