The Mayor of Gdynia Award
During the award ceremony, the Mayor of Gdynia Award will be presented. The jury will grant the Mayor of Gdynia Award and PLN 15,000 to the best film among those nominated for the Bank Millennium Award in the Main Competition.
JURY:
Irena Wanda Banat – film editor. She has co-created feature films, documentaries, TV reports, television shows, commercials and music videos. The films she has worked on have been presented and awarded at Polish and international film festivals numerous times. She is the co-director and editor of the documentary “Miss Holocaust”, nominated for the Golden Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival - Berlinale 2017. In parallel, for many years, she has been developing her passion for teaching, working with students at the Gdynia Film School and the University of Gdańsk, and sharing her knowledge of film editing.
Patryk Hardziej – illustrator, graphic designer, creator of film and theatre posters, author of books on the history of graphic signs and researcher. Lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and founder of the Karol Śliwka Foundation. Originator and curator of the Second National Exhibition of Graphic Signs and the Illustrated Communication Festival ILUSTRATOR. Repeatedly awarded in professional competitions. Winner of, among others, the golden KTR award and the title of designer of the year in the Polish Graphic Design Awards. He collaborates with clients from Poland and abroad.
Dorota Karaś – “Gazeta Wyborcza" journalist from Gdańsk. Author of journalistic biographies of Zbigniew Cybulski ("Cybulski. Podwójne salto"), Anna Walentynowicz ("Walentynowicz. Anna szuka raju") and Jerzy Urban ("Urban"). The co-author of the last two books is Marek Sterlingow.
