Bad Like Warsaw Dancehall

The event accompanying the film “Bad Like Brooklyn Dancehall”. This year we will have the opportunity to travel back in time to New York of the ‚80s and ‚90s to immerse ourselves in the blossoming Jamaican music scene of that time in Brooklyn. Responsible for filling the cultural atmosphere with dancehall sounds will be Filip Kalinowski and DJ Zeten.

Free admission

madikoptah – Warsaw selector, listener, and proud representative of the artistic collective Regime Brigade. A passionate enthusiast of bass-heavy, broken, strongly percussive sounds often diverging from popular club conventions.

Filip Kalinowski – Child of bass, beats, and blocks; a product of soundsystem self-taught, with windows shaking and distortions on vocals. A cultural studies scholar without a diploma, a musician without formal training, a record collector without cash. For years associated with various pop culture media (including “Aktivist”, The Quietus,
“Estrada i Studio”, Poptown and Newonce). In newonce.radio he hosts his program #zadalekiodlot.

DJ Zeten – Disk jockey/turntablist/record maniac. Free thinker, follower of “Scandal” and propagator of good music. In his pocket, he keeps spare needles, long OCBs, and “36 Chambers” on vinyl.
