Meeting with the director of the film “Forest”
after the screening of the film FOREST, dir. Lidia Duda
Lidia Duda’s latest film tells the story of Asia and Marek, fresh university graduates who bought an old house near the eastern border of Poland, in the Białowieża Forest, the oldest forest in Europe. This is their own paradise – a place where their children can grow up safely, away from the problems of today’s world. Yet one day, their forest changes as Strangers and Others show up. Refugees, unwelcomed neither in Poland nor in Belarus. The whole family helps the refugees, even though it’s against Polish law. After the screening, we will meet with the film's director and discuss what happens when big politics knocks on people's doors.
